1. Why was I told I need to feed my dog or cat kibble to help clean their teeth?

Kibble is a cookie. When was the last time eating a cookie cleaned anyone’s teeth? True dental health comes from chewing raw meaty bones and proper oral care, not from crunchy processed food.

2. I thought domestic dogs and cats don’t need to eat raw meat anymore because their bodies have evolved to need commercial pet food.

We have been feeding dogs and cats commercial pet food since 1860. Their DNA would need to change for their bodies to require commercial pet food as a source of nutrition. A DNA change does not happen in 165 years. Not even in 165 thousand years. Dogs and cats are still biologically carnivores designed to thrive on raw animal protein.

3. Why doesn’t the professional pet industry approve of a raw meat diet for my dog or cat?

The reasons are many. The primary reason is because our society has been doing the same thing for 165 years. Therefore no one is asking whether what we are doing is right or wrong. There are no studies being conducted to answer the many questions people are now asking due to the health issues their pets are experiencing.

4. The pet industry says they spend millions on research. How can they be wrong?

When millions of dollars in research is conducted from a starting point that is pointing in the wrong direction the results will always end with a wrong conclusion. The control groups consist of dogs and cats being fed different formulations of kibble. If the control groups were fed a completely raw meat diet the results would amaze them on every level.

5. Everyone says some brands of commercial pet food are better than others.

The commercial pet food companies make their products the same way. Some of them just use different chemicals, by-products, preservatives, additives, binders, grains, and so on. When they use one of these substances that has a different name, they can then call it a new formulation. There really is no difference in kibble that is sold in a bag or can. The biggest difference will be the price tag.

6. I cook human food for my pets and they have more energy. Isn't cooked food just as nutritious for them?

When you are cooking food at home for your pets you are using safer and softer food sources. The food you cook is softer than kibble so it is easier to digest and your pets feel better. Because they feel better, their energy level is better. Regardless, raw meat is the only food source that will put complete nutrition in their bodies.

7. How do I transition my dog or cat to a raw meat diet?

Just stop feeding them commercial pet food and start feeding them raw meat. I recommend you fast your dog or cat for at least 36 hours to get a good portion of the commercial pet food out of their digestive tract. Raw meat and kibble react opposite to each other in the digestive tract. This opposite reaction can cause some discomfort, diarrhea, and vomiting.

8. What do I do if my dog or cat will not eat raw meat?

Generally, if they will not eat raw meat it is because they do not know it is food. If it is not eaten in five minutes, pick it up and put it in the refrigerator for the next day. Do not give them anything to eat including treats. Make sure they have plenty of water to drink. Put down the raw meat for them the next day. Continue this routine until they eat the meat. Depending on your pet it could take two to four days. Once they eat the meat they will start craving it and they will love you for it.
